About Us

Harvesting Goodness, Nurturing Communities

Our Story

ROHI Company Limited traces its origins back to September 2, 2011, when it was officially registered as a business entity. However, it wasn't until June 2018 that the company truly began its operations, marking the beginning of a journey focused on food processing, particularly in the realm of banana crisps.

The inception of ROHI was driven by a vision to address a critical challenge in the Rungwe and Busokelo districts of Mbeya, Tanzania. In these regions, banana production was abundant, yet a significant portion of the harvest went to waste due to a lack of market access. This surplus led to rotting bananas, causing economic losses for local farmers, many of whom were youth and women, including single mothers.

Recognizing the potential inherent in this surplus of bananas, the founders of ROHI set out to transform this challenge into an opportunity. They understood that while there was a surplus of fresh bananas, there was also a robust demand for banana-based products, particularly snacks.
